Spiced crab

Origin of dish:  France
Type of cooking:  No cooking needed
 
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
 
Ingredients (serves 8):

    - 8 hard-boiled eggs
    - 2 cans of crab meat
    - instant gelatine
    - 2-3 tablespoons mayonnaise
    - crab claws (optional)

Method:

In a round cake pan or glass dish, pour a thin layer of gelatine. Decorate with crab claws, if available.

In a bowl mix crab meat and mayonnaise.
Season to taste.

Alternate crab mixture and hard boiled egg halves around the pan.
Pour gelatine on top and put in refrigerator until it sets.

Unmold by dipping pan bottom briefly in hot water.
Garnish with tomatoes if you wish.
Advice: Very refreshing appetiser with a salad or for a buffet. Crab meat may be replaced with chopped ham. For a lighter version, leave out mayonnaise.
