Almond milk

No rating at the moment! Be the first to

Origin of dish:  Europe
Type of cooking:  No cooking needed

Preparation time: 90 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes

Ingredients (serves 4):

350g almonds, ground to a fine powder
    1 litre water
    sugar (optional)

Method:

Place the ground almonds in a thin, solid cloth (a cheesecloth for example) without squeezing them, and tie a knot.

Immerse the cloth into the water and apply pressure to make sure the milk filters through.
Repeat several times until all the milk is filtered.

Press, squeeze and drain the cloth to get as much milk as possible.

The ground almonds that remain should no longer have any flavour, as it will all have passed into the drink.

Add as much or as little sugar as you wish, put it into a bottle and put it in the fridge.

Shake before serving chilled.
