Chocolate and apple cake

Ingredients (serves 6):


Method:

Preheat oven to 220°C (Gas Mark 7-8).

Mix the butter with the sugar and breadcrumbs using a wooden spoon.

Add the egg yolks, cinnamon and melted chocolate.

Beat the egg whites until they become stiff and carefully add to the mixture.

Pour the mixture into a greased square or rectangular cake tin.

Peel and cut the apples into quarrters, and add to the top of the mixture.

Put in the oven and cook for about 30 minutes.
