Walnut bites

Origin of dish:  France
Type of cooking:  Hob
Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients (serves 6):

    12 good-sized walnuts
    100g sugar


Spread out a sheet of baking paper on your work surface.
Put each of your walnuts on a cocktail stick.
Put suagr in a bowl, ad two tablespoons water and mix together.
Cook slowly, until you have a pale caramel.
Put twelve tablespoons of caramel on your baking sheet, then place a walnut on each blob of caramel.
Cover your walnuts with the remaining caramel, workign quickly, so the caramel doesn't harden.
Leave your walnut bites to cool completely, before removing them from the baking sheet.
Advice: Your lollies will keep for a couple of days before they start to soften.
