Ingredients (
serves 6
):
150g
sugar
125g butter
100g
almonds
40g
flour
3
eggs
1 pinch salt
1 glass Kirsch
Method:
Finely chop the
almonds
and mix with half of the
sugar
.
Cream
together softened butter and rest of
sugar
.
Once ingredients combined, add
almond
mixture and
eggs
, one by one.
Whisk.
Add a pinch of salt,
flour
and Kirsch.
Grease a
cake
tin and pour in mixture.
Cook for 40 minutes at 300°F (150°C).
Advice:
Use powdered almonds to save time.
Try adding candied peel and glacé cherries, then decorating the top of the cake with almonds just before serving.
This is a great recipe to make the night before.
