Ingredients (serves 6):
Method: Sieve the flour into a bowl and make a well in the middle.
20g baking powder
Oil for frying
Pour baking powder into a glass of warm water.
Add salt to flour, then add baking powder. Rub and knead with fingers until you have a smooth paste.
Cover with a clean cloth and leave top rest for 3 hours.
Roll out pastry, make several long, thin sausages and arrange as shown in the picture (if it looks too complicated, then wrap round in a snail shape).
Fry each sfenj in hot oil.
Meanwhile, gently heat honey in another pan.
Once sfenj are golden, soak each one in honey for 15 minutes.
Arrange on a plate and serve cold.
