Bechamel sauce

Origin of dish:  France
Type of cooking:  Hob
 
Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 15 minutes
 
Ingredients (serves 4):

    40g butter
    40g flour
    1/2 litre milk
    1/2 teaspoon salt

Method:

Gently melt butter in a pan, then sift in flour.
Add milk little by little, then season with salt and ground pepper.
Stir until mixture boils and thickens. Cook until it has a creamy texture.
