Origin of dish:  France
Type of cooking:  Oven
 
Preparation time: 20 minutes
Cooking time: 35 minutes
 
Ingredients (serves 6):

    Sweet pastry case, or 350g pastry
    1,6kg figs
    200g sugar
    150g butter

Method:

Roll out pastry, cook blind for fifteen minutes, then leave to cool.
Arrange figs in pastry case, stalk-up.
Cut a small cross in the top of each fig, and put in a little butter.
Sprinkle with sugar.
Bake for 35 minutes at 200°C (400°F).
Serve with creme fraiche, vanilla ice cream or custard.
