Cantina Laredo's Churros

Origin of dish:  Mexico
Type of cooking:  Hob
Preparation time: 25 minutes
Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients (makes 25 churros) :


Start by adding water, melted margarine, salt and brown sugar into a saucepan.

Place over a medium heat and bring the mixture to the boil, stirring occasionally.

Remove the pan from the heat and add the flour. Using the whisk beat the mixture until smooth and the consistency resembles mashed potatoes.

Add the eggs one at a time, beat in well.

Add cinnamon and beat in well.

Place the mixture in a pastry bag with a closed star tip.

Place in the refrigerator until the mixture has cooled.

Procedure for frying:
Place sufficient oil to cover the churros and heat the vegetable oil in a pan until hot.

Squeeze the mixture out of the bag until the churros is 6 inches long.

Once cooked coat in cinnamon sugar (half sugar half cinnamon.

Serve warm!

Procedure for Orange Cream:
Measure, add and mix the double Cream and sugar together with an electrical whisk.

Add the Orange juice and mix well.
