Ingredients (for 4 people) :
-450g/1lb beef minceMethod: Mix together all of the ingredients in a large bowl. Wet your hands a touch to make them slightly damp and then shape the mixture into four 9cm/3½inch burgers.
-1 large garlic clove, peeled and finely crushed
-1 small onion, peeled and grated
-4tbsp prepared barbecue sauce
-1-2tbsp freshly chopped flat-leaf parsley
-1tsp English mustard, optional
-Salt and freshly milled black pepper
-2 tomatoes, sliced
-1 gem lettuce
-1/2 finely chopped red onion
-1 tsp white wine vinegar
Cover and chill for 20 minutes.
Take out of the fridge and pre-heat the grill and cook the burgers for 6-8 minutes on both sides or to your preference.
Slice the avocado in half and remove the seed. Scoop out the innards, dice and place in a bowl. Add the red onion and a splash of white wine vinegar -season with salt and pepper.
Serve the burgers on focaccia bread with your sliced tomato, gem lettuce and avocado salsa.
