Baked rice pudding

Origin of dish:  UK

Ingredients (serves 6):


Method:

1-Measure out rice and place with sugar, in an oven-proof dish (23cm diametre). Grease bottom to prevent rice from catching.



2-Pour in liquid and stir well.



3-Sprinkle nutmeg over surface for topping.



4-Bake in middle of oven at 150°C (Gas Mark 2) for an hour, stirring after 30 minutes.



5-Bake for a further hour, without stirring, or until you have a thick skin on top of the pudding, then serve.

Advice: This will serve 6 at the most, depending on portion sizes.

Great with a blob of jam on top, or try adding a spoonful of golden syrup to the milk for extra sweetness, mmmm...
